Sjelden Ceramics

The desire of a mother and daughter to find a shared hobby led us to ceramics. It has become our therapy, during which various unique handcrafted pieces full of warmth and love have been created. As a result, different stages of life have been reflected in our works, and thus we continue our journey.

A bit about the creative process ;)

The creative process begins with preparing the necessary tools (sponges, spatulas, modeling tools, etc.) and preparing the clay itself—thoroughly kneading it until it becomes soft, moist, and suitable for use.

Then, we create a vision of the result we aim to achieve, and sometimes we allow the piece to develop on its own during the making process.

The products are dried for the appropriate period after preparation and then fired. After the first firing, we technically refine the pieces to make them ready for the glazing stage (sanding, washing to remove dust).

When glazing, we prepare meticulously to ensure that the works and the different glazes used remain separate and do not mix. During this process, various new ideas emerge—we draw, paint, and once the works are dry, we dip them into the glaze, which, after firing, makes the product ready for use.

Finally, the products are assessed to ensure their quality.
